Catappa barks are more concentrated than traditional Indian Almond Leaf (Catappa) and are perfect for creating black water conditions. Use sparingly - one piece will suffice for up to 120L of aquarium water. Trim if desired.
Catappa bark has denser properties and higher concentrations of tannin than Catappa leaves – both are very beneficial in aquariums and can be used simultaneously. Catappa has preventive and healing properties and can boost shrimp immunity. Catappa bark and leaves have been found to have anti-parasitic, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, helping keep the water free from pathogens, resulting in healthier and stronger fish. Also relieves stress.
Catappa barks sink immediately and will double in size as they absorb water and release tannins. Catappa bark will create an attractive feature in your aquascape.
Our premium Catappa Barks are foil-packed for freshness, releasing optimum tannins and lasting longer than inferior brands. Replace every 3-5 weeks.

Please note, Catappa barks will sink and expand when added to your aquarium, and will gradually release tannins which will give your water a brown tint. Tannins will filter out over time and are completely harmless to fish.
