Normans Lampeye

The lively Normans Lampeye. otherwise known as Lampeye Tetra or Lampeye Panchax, gets its name from the colouration of glowing blue around their eye. Lampeye's live best in a planted aquarium with hiding places. Despite its popularity in tetra community aquariums, it's actually a killifish, but will nonetheless live happilly in shoals with popular small tetra.

Ease of care

Moderate. These warm water fish are great for hobbyist just starting to look after tropical freshwater fish, they can be a little sensitive to changes in water conditions, so ensure water quality is optimum.

Diet
The main food we recommend would be tropical fish flake. Occasional live or frozen food can be given as a treat.

Compatibility
Community fish with other small fish such as other Tetra, Corydoras and Shrimp.

Breeding
Difficult and rare in home aquaria.

Life Span
